Thrifty Finds

It has been so long since I have done a 'Thrifty Finds" post and I really want to show off my cool finds!

So today is President's Day and Goodwill has their 50% off all their donated items! 

I wwasn't going to fight the crowds but there were two afghans I really liked and figured I would see if they were still there by today. Well, they were gone ;(  But, we found a couple of other things that were fun! 

So, we ended up going to TWO Goodwill stores and I just through the purchases together into one picture.

 All of this for $20! Two pieces of fabric, Large curtain panel, King sized sheet for painting, King sized duvet, Lotus Ironstone bowl (on left), Children's Purple plaid Vans shoes..$2 (don't even look worn!), 8 books, vintage traincase, 2 backpacks..$3.25 each! (one Nike, one on wheels)-I finally have all the backpacks I need to do our 72-hour emergency kits (will post)! and a Vintage box that says Platter pack.

Being Featured on Very Jane!

Gosh! Where has the time gone? I thought I was doing ok and then I saw the date of my last post! ..oops! 

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas and a Happy New Years! We sure did. 

Anyways, On to great news! I am being featured on the site Very Jane !

A few projects completed

Ok, so on a higher note,  I have been trying to keep busy. 

I recovered six dining chair cushions for a friend, don't have any pictures, but must say they turned out fabulous. But, am I the only one that feels the need to spray paint staples? After reupholstering the fabric on I was really bothered by the silver colored staples..Hmm...OK, maybe I have issues :) 

I have had this gorgeous cane back chair for over a year now and finally reupholstered it! I was going to re-paint it, but just loved the metal details on it and is in pretty darn good condition! So, I just recovered it and I am sooo happy with it. I completely forgot to take a BEFORE photo..I know, LAME! But, in one of the photos I have from another chair re-do found here, you can kind of see what the fabric was like..When I say kind of..I mean it. :)

Well..MIA once again!

I am so sorry that I have been MIA lately! 

I don't really have much of a great excuse for why I have been missing..besides being busy with my little one, preparing for school to start, doing a couple of projects for friends and so on. 

Does anyone else get so many ideas they don't know where to begin? Ugh..I have all these things I feel will make me successful and Instead I "cramp" up so to speak :/ And then don't get anything done?

Well, I guess i can include a few photos of whats been going on. 

Finally had my lil' ones b-day party.Between being sick and conflict in schedules it was a tad later then anticipated..but, it got done and she was a happy girl :)
